Watching and Waiting, Wednesday before the Wedding

Lots of Ws up there in my title. Let’s do a mostly Wordless Wednesday since my words are all being sucked into the vortex of e-mails required by a committee I’m heading at work. Back and forth they flurry, each generating far too many responses with new questions. Something like the overflowing porridge pot of the fairy tale. . .

So calm and quiet is required, and it can be found beach-side where I contemplate the morning’s elegant and sombre symphony of pewters and bronzes with just enough gold to keep spirits raised. . .

Although given Saturday’s impending nuptials, I’d feel even calmer and quieter if I could be assured that any rain held in those billowing greys will be emptied completely by, say, Friday evening’s dress rehearsal.

Is the weather influencing your plans this week?

And are you ever conscious of wanting a limit on your outgoing words?

Something tells me you will never agree to host an outdoor wedding again 🙂 But the vista there is so insanely beautiful, it's very unlikely rain would ruin the day (not that it's gonna rain!!!).

Having hosted our daughter's wedding here 9 years ago, we volunteered for this one. But it might take a while to forget again . . . That said, it really is wonderful to celebrate right at our own place!

I'm still experiencing a dry spell, word-wise. I hope it extends to the weather for you this weekend!

Pewters, bronzes, and golds…what a wonderful description to reflect this natural serenity. I hope the weather is clear skies!!!

And I do hope our summer is not quite over yet. November's time enough for those rich metallics. . . I'm still craving blues and yellows!

Fingers crossed the clouds will part and the sun will shine down on Saturday.
Relaxing ahead of time sounds like wise advice…
    such a lovely island scene.

Crossing my fingers that the weather cooperates for you. We've had bigger issues today with a water main break (no household water for hours) and an "ozone" alert.

Oh Terri, that's awful (we've done that before, with water from the main flooding the basement of our old house, which was right across the street). Hope your infrastructure gets restored quickly — I've never experienced an "ozone" alert. Hope those environmental conditions change for you soon.

Ah yes. Sometimes words seem like music and sometimes simply noise. And odd how ping-pong emails can breed, with the multiple generations/iterations adding to anxiety, rather than relieving it. (A multi-person conference call at least has the potential to bore people into silence!)

The beauty and comlexity of the pewter, bronze and gold is simply lovely . . . .

I love it! Yes, boring people into silence can be a tremendously worthy goal. . .

We are supposed to get some rain this weekend and I am very thankful for it. There is a large car show here this weekend whose participants will probably not be so happy. We are in the midst of a serious drought, so rain will be so welcome. Everything is just so parched. Even things kept watered are husks due to the heat.
I hope you have a rainfree weekend and a lovely wedding.

I'm a native blabber. But I wish you all possible sunshine for your festivities, using my blabbabilities, of course:).
